Vent wings
After messing with my vent wings and not liking how the first one turned out I sent them to Roger Koop in Kansas. Recently received them back and I will say that they look great. I would recommend him.

Re: Vent wings
Jerry Kassis at Dr J's Restoration Rx did mine.
drjsrestorx@comcast.net I was pleased with the results. Specifically the turn around time. He has the re-chromed parts in stock so I didn't have to wait for the chrome plating, which takes forever now days. Jerry can also do Black for a lot less money, if that's what you need. Rick |

Re: Vent wings
So I'm assuming Roger in Kansas and DR J are two different guys doing the rebuilds? I just sent DrJ an email from address provided.

Re: Vent wings
Yes, two different people. Jerry (DR J) is located in Oregon.

Re: Vent wings
I bought a set or Roger Koop's restored wings. They are beautiful and he is a supporter of this forum!

This thread is about the top quality of Roger Koop's work. He is a member here, one of us. I will be calling on him when the time comes on my '72

Re: Vent wings
While I did my doors seals a bit backwards, meaning I did my vents last because I thought I could get away from doing them (wrong) I am 95% pleased with Roger's vents.
The only problem I have with them, which technically isn't his fault, is the silkscreen for the passenger's safety glass text (the glass is new / repos). The text is inverted, meaning the text is mirror image from the outside of the truck. It's so darn bright white it can't be missed. While I wished I had known that before getting his set, I don't think I would have waited for the turn around to get mine refurbished (or at least my glass used). Though if the turn around time wasn't a issue (being without vents for a few weeks), I am sure I would have sent my vents to be redone and not used repo glass.

Re: Vent wings
I have nothing against Roger Koop. I have purchased from him before and was thrilled with his bucket seat hold downs.
I used Dr J’s Restoration Rx because he also has a great reputation and the shipping was significantly less because he is on the West Coast, where I live. The parts arrived next day via USPS. Dr J’s Restoration Rx is also a premium member of this board but hasn't been near as long as Roger Koop. I believe the pricing is similar for both vendors. Your choice fellas. I am always thrilled to have people that do such first class work. Our projects show the love. Rick |
