Re: Ididit steering column Help

I would go to the ididit sight and find the column you want then plug the part number into the summit sight. Steve

Re: Ididit steering column Help

i've been reading complaint's about the column shift lever being in the way of the stock starter location and to close to the steering wheel, so taking the shift lever out and bending them in a vise, also the wire connection being to short, owners calling in to Ididit
and all going on deaf ears and dont want to fix the problems with us who own 55-59 trucks! maybe i need to look more at a Flaming river Column?

Re: Ididit steering column Help

I looked up the column I wanted on the ididit website then searched around online and eventually ordered it from SpeedWay Motors along with a bunch of other parts. The shifter I ordered was a 30 Inch Plain column because I have a floor shifter.

Re: Ididit steering column Help

I would contact Matt's Classic Bowties. They are a vendor on this forum and always have good prices.

Southern Rods is another selection. Sometimes a better price than Summit!

Re: Ididit steering column Help

A number of manufactures won't sell direct in respect to the vendors that they have. Some who do sell direct charge full list price to consumers with no discounts so their vendors can't complain that they undercut them.

Offenhauser doesn't sell direct to consumers at all but if you call them and ask who you should buy a part from they will give you the name of the shop (s) they either prefer to work with our who they are pretty sure has said part in stock.

Re: Ididit steering column Help

Got mine from Summit 32" universal. Wire length was fine. Not a column shift.
