Painting grill

Has anybody tried or painted the lower stamped piece body color on a 69-72 style grill. I've been throwing around the idea for a while now and was considering the mild custom treatment. Painted up a trashed grill wall hanger and tried it out before doing it to the truck.

Re: Painting grill

Kinda the idea I 'm thinking of keeping the stainless for the most part and most of the grill will be stock. But painting the stamped in filler panel body color effectively creating a floating grill. Think like a mild touch.

Re: Painting grill

I always thought painting that part of the grille would look better.

Re: Painting grill

Yes, that looks great! That piece has always bothered me on the 69/70s and I've wondered what it would look like painted. Nice work and thanks for updating with the final result.

Re: Painting grill

That is something that should of been done at the factory, but would have costed too much to stay competitive, I'm sure.

It looks fantastic! It helps the grill "POP".
