first big road trip
just got back from a trip across texas. the first since i redid the engine and body. went from austin to amarillo and back. 70 mph +, 1000+ miles round trip, 1/4 quart oil and $ 90 dollars of gas and one taillight bulb later...i'm home.
it was a great drive and i counted 22 trucks round trip, 18 were on the road driving. thanks for all of the mechanical advice from ya'll and some good dealing with tim christian(still need to order that dash pad) and a few others on this board. here are a couple of pics of my truck and my clan... |

thanks alot ya'll
thanks for all the compliments. as you can tell i'm a pure stocker...except for a little HEI and exhaust mods.
yes it is a long bed. you really can't tell from that picture. this is my first long trip since i restored her. and i mean to tell all of you guys still working on geting their trucks running right...IT'S WORTH IT. i had a fun time with my family during the holiday...but i have to admit that the highlight was the drive this time. the only problem i had was getting out of the gas stations without having someone corner me and want to talk trucks for a while( i gotta get on the road, man.) |
