Odometer help and parts needed

Guys,
I'm in the process of trying to fix the odometer in my '65 C10. I'm using the factory speedometer head. The speedo still works and is accurate. However, the odometer hasn't worked since I've owned the truck. I decided to try and get the odometer working, so I removed the gauge cluster and removed the speedo from the cluster hsg. Once removed, I took the back plate from behind the needle off and then could see the problem. The white plastic odometer drive gear that is approx. 2 7/8" long is broken in half. The top half of the gear is gone, but the bottom half is still there.
Does anyone know where a guy could find one of these gears, besides a used cluster assy.? I did buy a new speedo head from one of the parts suppliers, but it reads about 6-7 mph slow, whereas the original speedo was accurate. I'd really like to fix this odometer, if possible. Any suggestions on where to find this particular gear would be appreciated.

Give your half gear to a buddy with a 3D printer? Have them recreate the gear on the computer and print it for you.

There’s two issues with your suggestion: the gear is different on each end. In other words, it has a spiral gear on one end and a straight cut gear on the other, from what I could tell from pictures I’ve seen of them. So, I’m not sure how that could be done without both pieces of my gear.
The other issue is that I don’t know anyone with a 3d printer. 😁

The simple thing would be to find a speedometer you could rob the parts out of.

if that gear is stripped it most likely means that the odometer is binding up inside. I've had them apart and cleaned them up before but can't describe the process. You do need to keep everything in order and put it back together in the order it came apart.

Yeah, that’s kinda what I’m thinking, as well. If I can find a good, used speedo head with that gear still intact, then that’s the route I’ll go.
From what I could tell, my odometer isn’t frozen. I could get each spool to turn just a bit when I tried turning them by hand. If I end up taking the odometer barrel completely apart to clean and lube it, I’ll be extremely careful with the tear-down and reassembly.

I would love to help out, but I can't remember if I still have it.
I had gotten a 64-66 speedometer with a broken needle a while back before I found out the odometer rolls were a different size from the 60-63 ones. If I still have it on the shelf, it's yours.
Only other problem is I won't be back home to check the stash until March 11th. If you can't find a replacement by then, let me know

Thank you very much for the offer! I truly appreciate that! We’ve got a swap meet in town this weekend that I’m going to and I’ll be looking for a speedo head and/or a cluster assy. If I don’t come up with one, I’ll send you a pm.

I wanted to follow up on this thread.
I ended up contacting Redline Gauge and Clock Repair in Michigan and spoke with John, the owner. He was extremely helpful and a wealth of knowledge! They had a NOS GM odometer assy. and the worm gear that I needed to repair my odometer. John even walked me through the disassembly and reassembly of my speedo head with the new parts, all over the phone on his time!
Again, if you guys ever need any sort of gauge parts, John and Tammy are the people to talk to.
Just thought I'd share my experiences with them.
