One for the Mid-westerners - C/30 duallie flatbed
Another ebay auction. This one has a 292 and what appears to be a 133 inch duallie flatbed

Cool truck and all, but that starting bid ($3,850) is waaay too high. I doubt anyone will bid on it.

Heck I'd pay that for a well maintained, rust-free, unmolested original work truck. I don't know it's actual condition but look at what guys are paying for trucks with far less utilitarian value than this one.
You may be right though and no one will bid

If it was 100% rust free I guess it could be worth that starting bid. Or if it had a Big Block and a 4 speed. But it is plain jane...radio delete, idiot light dash, 292. Still a very nice truck...would be a good worker.

I'm a function over form person. I look at the utility a vehicle possesses and it's potential ROI. And a 292 is the perfect engine for a 1 ton flatbed application.

oh I agree that inline sixes are cool...as much as I hate my dad's F-150, I love that motor (300 ci). I guess this all goes back to how crazy the market for these old trucks is. If that truck was a swb 1/2 ton, there would be bids like mad on it. But as a C/30, there is a limited market...no one wants a dually to just drive around, they want it to work. And they don't want to pay that much, even if it is in nice shape
Oh and btw, I am definitely a form over function person too...the way my truck looks is a testament to this. 2.5 different colors of yellow, black rocker, rust all over...but runs like a champ my dad tells me i should get a new chrome bumper, but I'd rather ditch the splits and get a dual exhaust...silly dad I'm almost afraid to restore it, because then if it gets dinged or scratched I won't be happy.

Looks fairly solid, it does have a GMC Horn Cap Tho...could it be a "refurbished" GMC? They don't actually give a vin number in that ad to know fo sure tho. Interior may have been touched up at one time anyway.
It's a Little steep for me but would buy it if I had the money to collect more toys including work trucks...
