Nice truck
Defiantly a Keeper. About the engine code , It appears to be L30? This is from Outintheshop's info/ L30:327 CU. IN. V-8 ENG. L30 is a 327. https://www.outintheshop.com/options.html

Re: 1968 Chevrolet CST Survivior.
Engine should be a 327. Choke delete came on 327 or 396 in 68. Looks like a good truck.

My plan is to front disc brake swap with dropped spindles, lowered springs front and rear, 15x7 front and 15x8 rear rallys with staggered tire sizes. Keep this truck SIMPLE and CHEAP clean it up give some attention and use it as a parts runner! One last thing… do not SELL IT!!

Re: 1968 Chevrolet CST Survivior.
Glad you are keeping this one!!!
I see what looks like a Quadrajet on the engine, that would have to be a 327??? Always glad to see disc brakes on a 69 and earlier!!! |

Re: 1968 Chevrolet CST Survivior.
I love that truck. Had one just like it in the early 80s. Its the only c10 that I regret selling. But back then, they were everywhere. Good plan for it too. I will be watching this one for sure.

Oil pressure check. No psi reading with stock gauge. Napa mechanical gauge to the rescue. We have oil psi! Engine was to quiet not to have non maybe stock gauge is gummed up. Pulled oil line from engine block to coupler at fire wall blew stock line out. Napa gauge showed 25 psi at cranking and 40 ish at idle.

Progress. Replaced fuel pump. Took test for testdrive, just around the neighborhood, starts, idles, shifts 3 forward gears and reverse gear and stops.
