chevy c40
Does anyone know if a 68 Chevy c40 ever had Air Brakes? I am interested in one but don't want air brakes. I think that takes a special drivers license.

I'm going to say no. You should have nothing to worry about.

Re: chevy c40
I've worked on 50 and 60 series trucks that didn't have air brakes. I've also worked on semi tractors. I'd be interested in finding out where the dividing line is.

Re: chevy c40
A guy in our neighborhood once had a '67-'72 Single Axle Dump which I believe was a C-50. I remember that it had Narrow Fenders. To my surprise, it had Air brakes. I know it was under CDL, maybe as low as a 19,500. But that was pretty rare and as mentioned, I don't believe a C-40 ever had that option.
I would have loved to get that truck and make a large Pick-up out of it, like some of them we see out there. Now that would be super rare. A Pick-up Truck with Air Brakes, lol.

Re: chevy c40
I believe the C60 was the dividing line, some had hydraulic, some had Air. EDIT: Bill says I'm wrong.
