The ‘Trans-American’ 1972 Cheyenne super Survivor - Thread
This was very unplanned
A month ago when I was back home in California I saw this truck for sale down in Kentuky. Interesting, so I got in touch with the seller. Had the usual conversation. Along the way, he said ‘No, that is the original mileage, it hasn’t been rolled over’ ! Filed the truck away in my memory Moved on with my days And then flew back to our place in Massachusetts on a round trip ticket At some point 72Tigger texted me that he was going to truck show in TN Said you should come down, he already had the hotel room Hmm, KY is on the way to TN And I need to get my 2019 Silverado back to Ca So I looked up where that truck was located It was right along the way That’s a no brainer ‘Honey, I’m driving back to California’ |

Beautiful truck, and rare as hens teeth for these parts. Hope to see some P01’s, and white walls on it soon

Re: The ‘Trans-American’ 1972 Cheyenne super Survivor - Thread
When I had met up with Kirk (72Tigger)
Before the show, I had told him I had bought the truck ‘Well Eric, ‘We’ve got time to kill, let’s go find a trailer so you can tow that truck home’ Uh, okay So I asked the seller if I could leave the trailer at his house while I went to visit a friend. Id be back the next day. He said no problem, I won’t be home tomorrow I’ll leave it out, pick it up when you can The title and keys will be on the seat Uh, okay If that’s what you do in Kentuky I’m good |

If you decide to part it out, I'd be interested in the whole truck! Great find indeed. I hope you made or are making it back safely

Re: The ‘Trans-American’ 1972 Cheyenne super Survivor - Thread
After all, the hood ornament is likely a 1940s Packard original hood ornament with the plastic wings broken off. I found one in a creek behind my Grandma's apt in the late 60s. Long gone. The wings were green or red.
Not out of the question that the old fellow who bought the truck new, may have been a Packard fan.

That definitely looks like the one that is on the truck
I popped the hood. Bingo, a red wire running from it All the way down through the firewall Guess it is time to go ‘hood ornament hunting’ |

I see Country Classic Cars listings all the time. Is that the one that uses hot models?
