What did you get done this weekend?
I got the flu and threw up DURING A CALL at work!
We were trying to take care of a diabetic guy and I yacked in his front yard. Only truck stuff I got done was sandblasting my power brake booster brackets. Skokie, I owe you the parts. I'm going to be a day late shipping them off. I got to quit throwing up before I can leave the house much. What did you get done to your project this weekend?

I didn't do squat. It's was -10 F here last night and even with the sunshine, its still only 6 F today. Colder than a well-diggers ass.

Had the day off today and finished disassembling my front end. Going to be replacing the radiator support and both inner fenders. Along with heater core, headers... the list goes on. I've been doing it about an hour at a time because I'm working in an unheated shed and it's been about 5-20 degrees out. Brrrrr.

I yanked the 3spd column on my 68beater. Didn't get to put the replacement back in though.

I got my heads dropped off at the machine shop to be cleaned and have a valve job done. Also, rebuilt my brake/clutch pedal and painted it all. Oh, and made a shelf for the wife in the pantry. Had to do something for her so I could stay in the garage.

I installed kick panels, got my horn working and installed a couple weatherstripping pieces in my 67 SWB. I also installed my subframe, upper and lower control arms and new springs in my 71 Camaro. I also started an aluminum firewall for the Camaro to cover where it was beaten in to clear an HEI distributor.

Friday the wife and I went to a local junkyard to check out 2 '70 Chevy C10s that I was told were there. She said she wanted to go along since she had never been to one before.
Anyway, the trucks were there and they both had the passenger outer door handles on them and they worked perfectly. So I bought them for $10 each. Atleast now the passenger door opens like it is supposed to now. I also put new wipers on the '70. Other than that, not much else. I did manage to get one of my shotguns wet while squirrel hunting in the rain. It was only a slow sprinkle until we got out in the woods. So now I have to clean it.

Let's see - on the truck, I swept off about 6" of snow and got the hood open and hauled out the block heater cord so I could plug the poor thing in. It was about -25 F here this morning and a bit of wind to boot. Haven't managed to shovel out the box yet - but the worn out floor boards let some of the snow fall right through.
Had the snow blower out on Saturday and cleared the lane behind the garage as well as the sidewalks etc. Younger son slipped and fell on the walk and in the process took out one of the doors on the shed (crumby metal shed doors) so I patched it up with some sheet metal and screws to hold it together until spring comes and I can actually work on it without freezing so I can improve the doors. Been thinking about it for a long time and now have the impetus(sp?) to actually do it. Had my home computer cause trouble. Just one of the fans but a pain in the you know what. Dusty inside so I plugged in my little pancake style compressor to blow out the dust. The compressor then broke its connecting rod and beat itself up pretty bad before I could turn it off. Good news is I think I can get it repaired or replaced on warranty - only been run about 25 times but it is 3 years old. Only used a bit in the house with the finish nailer really as I have a big compressor in the garage. Enough whining. Happy New Year.

Since my truck is in storage for the winter, I have just been surfing the board asking questions and collecting info. I was also researching some stuff and coming up with ideas for the truck, and gathering what parts I can that I need from parts stores and the internet to stockpile them until the truck comes out in the spring.

well i had to work all weekend...but today I finally broke down and shelled out $15 for a universal replacement windshield washer pump. ended up having to take the cowl off, found some nice rust & garbage under there, took off all the dry rotted rubber hose, blasted the nozzles out with the air compressor, and redid everything. I couldn't (didn't want to) get to the original pump under the dash, so I just cut all the hoses to it and left it there. there was a switch attached under the dash bezel that was wired, but we couldnt trace the wires and the switch didn't appear to run anything, so we hooked it up as the new washer switch. tested it and one of the lines was split and when I attempted to pull it off the Y-fitting, ithe fitting broke. oh and the passenger side nozzle doesn't work, air went thru it A OK, but no fluid. oh well, tomorrow is another day.
also put the mirror head from the pass side on the driver side since the drivers one decided to commit suicide on my way home from work. also topped off the radiator and tidied the underhood wiring a bit.

I am in the middle of swapping the 350 out of the half ton and putting it in the 67. I got the motor in and ready to run after I go out and get a new oil filter tomorrow. Now on to the re-build on the 305 to put BACK in the half ton. I don't know what my problem is but I will be glad when this little project is over with.

i put the lowered sway bar brackets on my truck finally after pulling up to a curb and breaking the grease zerks off i figured i had better put them on before i damaged the bar. the brackets had been sitting on the shelf for about 6 months because i had been too lazy to put them on.

TX - I was hoping you weren't going to ask this week! I got nothing done, and I found myself thinking 'I better do something in case Txfirefighter asks!' In the end, I got nothing done.

Put 4 gallons of gas in burb to top it off (below zero weather and partially filled tanks = trouble).
Spent rest of time with wife and kids.
