F body fuel tank
I've seen people install the 69 Camaro tanks and that looks pretty easy. I have access to a 2nd gen f body tank and wondered if anybody had tried one of these. Might or might not be worth the trouble. I don't know if the sending unit is compatible or anything.

Re: F body fuel tank
I did the 69 Camaro Tank's Inc EFI tank on my 68 C10. Worked well. Hangs down a bit. Fill thru the license plate. Kind of akward to fill but again OK.
The reason I did the Camaro tank was I really didn't want to cut a hole in the bed floor. Sender was the typical 90 ohm sender. |

Re: F body fuel tank
If the 2nd gen tank will fit between the frame rails, it should work. The fill neck is in the same location as the '69. Those fillers are common on the Chevelle lineup and, yes, they are a pain in the butt to fill. Today's pumps fill much faster and I have to hold the lever, rather than set it on the first step. They like to splash out when getting full too. I have a '66.

Re: F body fuel tank
My truck had a 4-6 drop. No real spit back. The Tanks Inc tank is baffled if you are running EFI.
I think I bought a 87? Monte Carlo fold down license plate bracket. |

Re: F body fuel tank
Did you buy the Notched tank or the Stock tank?
Thanks, Woody |

Re: F body fuel tank
That looks great. I have a few questions...
1) what did you do for Straps? Buy the ones Takes inc had? 2) What did you do for fuel lines? 3) Where do the Exhaust Pipes run? Thanks, Woody |

Re: F body fuel tank
Here's the best pic I have.
Fuel lines ran up the left frame rail. -6 SS line. C5 FFR. I think I used the stock straps. |
