Oil pressure guage is pegged all the way to the right, any ideas why ?

Possibly a dead short? The pressure switch is a new (A/C Delco) one, it’s stays pegged and does not move at all, key on or key off, pulled the single wire off…no movement.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like its grounding somewhere. What did it do before the new sensor?

Sounds like you installed a switch instead of a sender. The switch is for the dummy light models. If you have a gauge, you need a sender.

Thanks !

Interesting, I will check it out further. I have bought both the switch (installed) and recently bought a sender. The switch screws right into the fitting on the block, the sender is a smaller diameter and will take some kind of reducer….

Problem is I’ve been working on this truck for a couple of years, sporadicly, so I sometimes forget where I left off

What does it do when you ground the wire ? Think I had a fuel gauge workings when I responded . Doesn’t the oil sender peg when it’s unhooked.?
