1972 RePro Tailgate

Found a new (newly known to me) repro tailgate for my 72. Has anyone done business with United Pacific? Has anyone purchased this particular tailgate?

It looks good to me, very much a copy of the original. It is 16 gauge (~0.06") steel, whereas my original is closer to ~0.09" steel. It weighs about the same as the Mar-K repro tailgate which I have heard is a good, heavy duty part.

Thinking about pulling the trigger on this one. What say you?

Re: 1972 RePro Tailgate

I'll be honest, didnot know they are making tailgates again with heavy on the. When I had my other 70. They had stopped allowing them to be produced. I have never heard of the UP brand. Only thing I remember tolook at I repo tailgates is the shape of top of the gate and how it mat he's with the rear of thebedsides.

I’ve seen a few videos on youtube how to rebuild. I’m going that direction before I try anything, you can’t beat original. But I need one if not. Hopefully something nice.
