RodDoors for 73-87 GM trucks

Anyone have the latest issue of "Classic Trucks"? On page 84, in the lower left corner, there is a ad for RodDoors. They are advertising a "complete 73 thru 87 Chevy truck interior package".

What you get...

headliner, rear cab cover, door panels, kick panels with built in speaker pods, carpet, seat and upholstery material. Price is $1,895 for tweed, and $2,850 for Ultraleather. Ouch!

Here is a link for the door panels, but it is still unavailable (has been for months now).

Just passing this along for those of you who were interested a while back, or for those of you who may be interested.

What about the folks with 73-76 doors? Those 4 years are different from the rest, the panels are shorter and bolt up differently...and the window crank shafts are different as well (shorter in length). I E-mailed them quite some time ago asking this same question, got no reply.

Ken, you might be right, but I am on a diet, donuts are nooo good.

Jeff, I'm on a diet too. It's called the milk and doughnuts diet. You don't loose any weight, but it's really easy to stay on it...

Ken said doughnut hole, which used to be worthless because it was air. But now, they sell doughnut holes and a dime would probably be not enough to buy one. :p

Oh, I forgot what I was going to say.

I was going to add, if they won't answer emails and links to their site don't work, I'm not too sure I would buy anything they had to sell anyway. Nothing ticks me off any worse than buying something and not be able to talk to the ones I buy it from if I need help or info. Been there, done that.

I've talked to them a few times and spent a little time in their booth at the Daytona Turkey Rod Run. They seem to have a nice product but are just now seeing interest in our trucks. They told me that all the components will be sold seperately and that the panels should be around $180 a set (this is UNCOVERED...you have to cover them).

I had brought up the fact that I had tried to call/email over the past previous months (this was in November) and had no response most of the time. The guy said that since the "Copperhead" feature on TRUCKS! they have absolutely swamped with inquiries and were trying to keep up with demand.

I can tell you that they seemed to be a stand-up company and that the quality was TOP NOTCH.

just my double pennies.....

I was thinking of taking the door panels off my silverado and making a mold for them, clean it up, and spit out door panels all day, but the molding process will be difficult, as well as dealing with the hot plastic. I would like to know what kinda plastic formuation it uses, and then add dyes for reds, blues, greens, whatever
