68 K10 Stepside "Just keep it drivable"

Here's my 68 K10 that I'm finally working on. It sat in a warehouse that I had in VA for 10 years. I never moved or started it that whole time. I bought a house in NC and moved it down here a year ago, so it has been at least 12 years since it last ran. Yes life does get in the way. 🤷

Currently I'm in the middle of a major house renovation which is driving me crazy. I need a distraction every once in a while to keep my sanity. My goal is to just fix problems that the truck has, but keep it drivable. I do not want to take it apart. This may not be exciting like a frame off, but I figured some people would want to follow along. The truck needs lots of little things and some crappie work undone that's happened by previous owners.

So I ordered a new Delphi fuel pump for it a couple of months ago and on 9-2 I decided to put it on and get it running finally. It went as planned and was able to move it under it's own power. Finally!!!! 😁

Re: 68 K10 Stepside "Just keep it drivable"

Same day out of my little barn it comes. Not running perfect, but still puts a grin on my face to get it running. All the old fuel had evaporated over the years. I started it at first running off a gas can. Then I put gas in the tank to see if it would run from that. It worked so let's see what happens. Lol

And finally a bath. I don't know where all that dirt came from. 12 years between washes isn't that long is it 😂

That's it for that day 9-2. I'll post up more when I get a chance.

Thumbs up Re: 68 K10 Stepside "Just keep it drivable"

love the look of your truck-I learned to drive in a 70 short step 4x4, 250 inline 6 and a granny box, no power steering, no power brakes, no radio just a bare bones work truck and i've been hooked ever since
