WTB Factory 8 Lug Wheels
I'm curious if anyone within reasonable driving distance to Portland Oregon has a set of decent (Not too rusted) 8 lug wheels for my 72 3/4 ton 4x4?
Let me know. If they have all the original hubcaps there in good shape, that would be OK too! Darren

Jock,
I think shipping would kill me Any idea (A guess) how much all 4 of them would weigh? I see you do blasting? Have they been blasted / cleaned and painted? How much for the rims (the 16" ones)? Just curious. Like I said, shipping would probably be way too much . . . . . Darren

That sounds about right with all the work done on them.
A bit out of my budget right now. Anyone have a set closer to me (that wouldnt need shipped)? Someone MUST have a set? Darren

Yeah...I got a set of (4) white 16" 8 lug. They came off a '74 2wd, the caps have a yellow bowtie. I did cut a hole in the worst cap for the front hub. No tires. I have $75 into them and would need that back. I also could put some tires to hold air on them if you want.
I'm in Marysville, Washington. Get to Tacoma often, could probably work something out on transportation.

Dan,
Sounds like they may do the trick for me. A few questions. Sorry. 1) Were the wheels the exact / same from 1972 to 1974? I'm trying to do a "correct restoration" for the 72 4x4 3/4 ton 2) Are they clean enough that with a little work they would look new? (is there any serious rusting / dents etc.) If they are the correct wheels, and will work on my 4x4, and are not rusted up, I'm interested. I drive up north every couple months. I'll look at them. They sound like they are just what I'm looking for. Thanks Dan Sorry for all the questions Darren darrengale67@hotmail.com

I don't know about differences in wheels, but lets definately find out. You probably don't want the caps then, so I'll sell just the wheels for $50.
I think wheels have numbers stamped in them, so are you doing a numbers matching? I can't even be positive they were original on the 74. They might be same size, offset and look exactly like 72. I don't know. I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow. Don't worry about the questions as I don't want to sell you anything you don't want.

I think the wheels in 72 were 16.5", and not 16". I'm not sure when the switch to 16" occurred, but I thought it was in the late 70's.

Dan,
Sound like I need to do a bit more research. Do you have a digital Camera? Maybe you could take some pix of the 16" and the 16.5"? I would possibly be interested in the hubcaps Too! The best way to iron this out is probably with some pix and some good info from other board members. Maybe I'll post the question in the general board area. darren
