1970 Chevrolet C20 Pickup - Replacing Front Parking Light Bulb

Hi,

The right front parking light is not working on a 1970 chevrolet c20, 5.7. I removed the cover and tried pulling on the orange bulb, it was not really coming out, wasn't sure if this is how you remove it. To remove this bulb, do you just pull on it? Just checking, want to make sure I am not going to break it by pulling on it.

Thanks

It's a slight push in and rotate counter clockwise motion.

To be more specific, The bulb does not unscrew.. Push in slightly and twist only a slight amount. The bulb socket contacts are spring loaded against the bulb. Once the twist is accomplished, release the pressure and the bulb will come out.

I didn't say anything about unscrewing. By the time a person pushes and rotates, it's popping out. Stop quoting me. I'm not the one asking for help. You did this once before and I let it slide. Learn some social etiquette.

You want to help me? Go read my latest post, and help me figure that out. Otherwise, stay on topic and address the original poster. Expand or elaborate on what I wrote.

Thank you, got it out. Appreciate your help. I would have definitely broken it, I didn't come here for advice.

In terms of type of bulb, which type should I ask for when going to the autopart place, for this replacement?

Sometimes they get a little corroded so a squirt of WD40 will help with removal.

Couple of things I will add.

The 2 prongs are offset, Picture below for reference.

When reinstalling the bulb, make sure the prongs are in the correct orientation.
The prong closest to the bottom of the bulb goes in the longest slot.

Also, it helps to use dielectric grease on the side of the bulb to protect against dirt and grime entering in.
