Re: Grommet fresh air door

I didn't have ac on my 68 but to seal the lower vent doors I got a used semi truck tire inner tube from the local tire shop. They gave it to me. Just cut out a pattern and glued into place with contact cement glue. Zero money spent.

Re: Grommet fresh air door

The grommet I’m looking for is for fresh air door for ac located between cowl and glove box

I am confused. The LMC link posted above by Jason Banks shows the A/C Air Shut-Off Valve, which is under the cowl and behind the glove box.

Or are you asking about the vent in the passenger side kick panel, below & to the right of the glove box?

Re: Grommet fresh air door

A/c air shut-off valve in cowl pivots on grommet in cowl behind glove box .
That’s what I’m looking for LMC picture doesn’t show it

Re: Grommet fresh air door

OK, gotcha. Not sure where you might find one. Sounds like you are describing the off-white nylon piece pictured below, to the left of the spring. Not a great pic of that grommet but it's what I was able to find.

Re: Grommet fresh air door

Just a guess, it might not be available. If not, look for a parts truck in a junkyard.

Re: Grommet fresh air door

Looks like a part easy enough to fab with a nylon hunk from ACE?

Re: Grommet fresh air door

Would not call that a grommet. See it as a bushing for fresh air cowl flap. It is pictured. This is not reproduced as far as I know. I managed to get this one off the parts forum several years back for my A/C conversion. Become a member and ask in the parts forum. Maybe contact Classic Bowties. He has a lot of hard to get parts.
