Bowtie Blankets..

I posted this pic of my truck with the Bowtie Blanket and have had a couple PM's asking where I got it from. There are multiple colors and the company is in Alberta and I'm attaching a link to their webpage.

Cool! I should get one for my truck. That black vinyl is like a skillet on the old hams.

Re: Bowtie Blankets..

.

Cool that an LS based company would put out a product like this...if I had a bench seat and needed a cover, this would be it.

Good news ‘68OrangeSunshine,
I contacted Kris at LSFab and he replied that they have an Orange blanket in the works!
Check back with them in a couple of months.
Thanks again to Already Gone for the link information.

Thanks, I will.
Right now I've got a Swiss Army blanket. Brown with a red stripe and a white cross in the stripes on the ends. It's a little too big for a double fold over the bench bottom*. Very warm as it's all wool. A dubious asset in the Desert.

*[My seat is out of a '69 Thunderbird. Bench bottom, bucket backs, with fold-down armrest.]

Re: Bowtie Blankets..

They look nice but how do you do up the seat belts when driving? Blankets were cool when I was a kid and going through the windshield wasn't part of the vocabulary then. Keep truckin eh!

I just use mine to cover the seats when I leave the truck outside so sun doesn't bleach the seats and like in my picture even though inside I cover the seats for Winter storage. I don't they were ever designed to be used as seat cover.

May not last as long as upholstery but blankets have been used for years as seat covers . I wouldn’t do it on an every day vehicle but for one of my trucks that gets maybe a few thousand miles a year it should last a long time

Funny story. When I bought the Orange Stepside in 1973, the PO gave me an OD green canvas cover with grommets and stuff in a weird pattern. He said he bought the truck from a Navy Captain, chaplain at CamPen, who had been a PT Boat Sailor in WWII. It was a Torpedo Tube Cover, and the Padre would use it to keep his L6 292 warm on those damp, chilly California nights.
There was a 3/8'' hemp line on one corner grommet, and I added a red strip of cloth to it, So I could drape it over the fender and close the hood, and still see my Remove Before Flight tag. This was after I forgot it was still over the engine once, and started it. The Fan blades cut the cover up a bit.
Lasted til the '80s when a well-intended friend wrapped the torp cover around a dead lead acid battery, and it fell over in the trunk of my Dad's '73 Lincoln. The battery acid ruined it.
Overnight moisture isn't a problem in Tucson, too arrid.

Re: Bowtie Blankets..

Neat blanket. A person could make a nice cover if done up right. A step up from a Mexican blanket.
