Ordered lock and key set but just a letter received.

I ordered a lock and key set from J.L. Fabrication. I received a letter saying the their warehouse currently is out of stock so it will ship directly from the manufacturer. Well, never received it, yet UPS said it was delivered. Never got it. I've had issues with UPS not delivering my packages before and they won't help me. J.L. won't help either. eBay, where it was purchased from through the J.L. store won't help either. So I'm out $48 because UPS says it was delivered. It's definitely not J.L. or eBays fault. UPS doesn't take pictures of delivered packages. UPS is just saying, sorry, our records show delivered. Ugh.

Dispute it with your credit card company, depending on how long ago you purchased it.

J.L. took the order, they took your money, and they owe you the parts. I don't care who dropped the ball, if they value their reputation they need to make it right. But I'm old school and stand behind my word.

That being said I have ordered from them in the past with no issues.

Maybe a tersely worded post on their Facebook page?

Re: Ordered lock and key set but just a letter received.

I recently had a similar situation with a different company and it took multiple chats and two days to get a refund, never got the part I ordered. I've completely lost any scrap of faith I had in the postal delivery system, I also recently ordered several things for my employer and none of it showed up, all lost in the mail.

UPS takes pictures all the time now. I just had a package delivered today and they sent a picture stating it was delivered.

raggedjim is correct. JL took the order, now ask them to deliver the parts. Your only other option is to report it as stolen since it apparently disappeared off your porch?

Re: Ordered lock and key set but just a letter received.

For this very reason, I will always use my Credit Card for purchases.
My credit card company is very good with me. I’ve been with the same company for many years, so disputing barges is not much hassle..
Words of advice:
Always use Secure sites.
Never give your card info over the phone
Always get a tracking number.
Follow the tracking.
The last thing do because I’m out in the Boondocks
I have a Parcel box near the road, and a trail cam set up to record anything that gets near it.
Sorta like a Redneck “Ring”
It’s a shame that you didn’t get your item because some UPS driver (very possibly a Holiday Temp driver) was too lazy to do their job.
It’s the FEDEX drivers that are notoriously lazy around my county.
