frame swap?
there is a 67 gmc cab and frame for sale on the parts board that i am interested in buying but before i buy it, i have a few quistions,
will my 71 chevy front clip bolt directly to the cab and frame? I am wanting to basicaly take everything from my truck and put it on this frame i am not sure if there is a difference on GMCs and Chevys He says it has a Dana 60 rear with leaf springs, should i keep that in or put my coil springs on it? which is the better rearend, Dana or Eaton, both are 4.10s which one should i use?

There is quite a bit of difference in the way that the rear-ends and the springs are set-up. I think that if you went with the leaf frame you would have to leave it intact, it would be quite a bit of work to change a leaf frame to a coil suspension or visa versa. If you get a chance to look at them side by side you will see what I am talking about. Take special note of the cross member where the trailing arms connect, and the width of the leaf spring frame above the rear end. Also the rear ends for the coils spring rear will have different perch's for the spring’s mounts. Not to say that it can't be done but usually in the case of coil or leafs you get the type you want and go from there. As far as the front end it should work but you might have to do a little fabrication where it come to the core-support.
