how hard are 4:10 12bolt gears to find?
What trucks did these come in? I'm having a hard time finding 4:10 gears for a 12 bolt rear for my '72 Blazer. I just want to know what I should look for and what trucks would be the best candidates to find them in. I can't buy anything right this minute I'm just trying to find out what trucks these came in and how hard they are to find. Thanks

Seems like 6cyl trucks would be more likely to have them but
You might consider aftermarket. Then you dont have to worry about being worn out or the grease not being changed frequently. |

The only ones I've found so far are 3:73's and 3:08's, I have yet to find a 12 bolt with 4:10's. I'm not too worried about using used gears, since thats what I have in there right now. I know of a junkyard near me that would let me inspect it before I bought it. So used is no problem, and aftermarket are kinda out of my price range right now.

I would think they would be fairly common in our year of trucks, at least in the 4x4's. My 67 has the factory 12 bolt with 4.10 gears in it.

Drivetrain warehouse (now part of 4wheel parts) sells Genuine Gear with a lifetime no-question asked warranty, and last I saw they had two gear sets and two master installation kits for $400. Do both ends of your 4x4 and get gears from you and a friend 2x4.
