WTB or trade for-SWB bare frame
Looking for a nice '68-'72 SWB bare frame located in Mid-atlantic or Southeast. Might trade something--what do you need?

I responded to another thread about a swb leaf spring frame. Would you be interested in a leaf spring frame?

I just took the front clip off last night. Haven't had a chance to look at the frame in detail. From what I have noticed it appears to be nothing more than surface rust. I will try and get a good look at it tonight to better answer any questions.

smity62,
I am trying to buy a partially complete porject from a guy locally. All I want is the sheet metal. It is a 69 SWB with power drum brakes. He has put all new brakes, shocks, and ball joints/bushings on it. He also sandblasted and painted the frame. It is a complete rolling chassis. We haven't negotiated price yet. He is supposed to give me a price in a couple of days. If you are interested in the rolling frame it might let me offer him a little more and close a deal. He also has a 350 crate motor still in the crate and a rebuilt 400 trubo if anybody is interested. He is selling these seperate from the rest of the truck By the way I am in middle TN. Litdave

smitty62. The frame I just bought is bogus! It is a converted lwb. Looks like sh*t. I didn't notice it until I got the bed off. I guess when you spend alot of time on a board you get a sort of family feeling and let your guard down. CAVEAT EMPTOR even on this board. I do have some good news.... I just saved a lot on my car insurance.LOL .
Litdave....Have any idea what he wants for the t400? Is it newly rebuilt? Shift kit? |

Jeeez Brian, I'm sorry! what a bummer! I know what you mean about the board--I though the same thing until I bought two junk wiring harnesses from board members. One of them is big into selling stuff on here and seems on the surface to be an all-right guy but trust me, he's a real prick. I just hope he advertises for something I've got--I'm going to sell him a real piece of junk at a real good price. It's a d@mn shame you can't trust guys in your own hobby!
Maybe it's time to start a feedback forum on here like Ebay's. Glad to hear about your insurance!

PT'S 70CST.. What is left of the swb. Is the frame any good. I actually have a good swb, but I thought I was going to have 2. I have 2 '68s and a'72, so I have a lot of stuff. Is there anything in particular you are looking for.
smitty62..I have definitely had more positive experiences than negative. I enjoyed meeting you and a few more members on my trip. |

Hi Tim!
Any chance you could send me some pics? Anything you can tell me about the condition of the frame and cab? I might be able to get over there and buy it if it ever stops with the lousy weather! Dick

FRAME
IT IS A COMPLETE TRUCK AND EVERYTHING IS THERE BUT IF YOU WANT THE FRAME I WILL STRIP IT. I THINK IT IS IN GOOD SHAPE YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PIC WHERE IT HAS BEEN HIT BUT I REALLY AM NOT SURE HOW MUCH DAMAGE THE FRAME HAS IF ANY, I JUST GOT THE TRUCK A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO AND HAVE NOT HAD TIME TO REALLY GO TROUGH IT. THE TRUCK LOOKS TO BE PRETTY SOLID.
PS: BEFORE ANYONE ASK THE BED HAS ALLREADY BEEN SOLD AND IT WAS A RUST FREE BED AND VERY SOLID (MY BUDDY SPOKE UP FOR IT BEFORE I COULD EVEN GET IT TO THE HOUSE.) PT |

72 SWB Frame
I have a rolling 72 SWB frame in very good condition. Front disc brakes and coil rear. Front and rear have been lowered with aftermarket lower kits. Has front factory sway bar, dual aluminized exhaust and good mufflers, small block engine brackets and automatic cross member. All $500. Located in central Kentucky. I can send photo if you send me your e-mail address. Tried to put on board but file is too big.
