converting from powerglide to 700r-4
Can anyone tell me what all to consider or I need to do for this conversion?

conversion
You will need:
Kickdown Cable Different torque converter relocate transmission crossmember Shifter replacement or conversion Your Driveshaft will need to be 2.5" shorter That's about it unless my memory is fading. Great conversion. I love mine. Tom |

Thanks for the info. Can I run a toggle switch for the lockup? Will the driveshaft front yoke fit the 700?

questions
Yes the same yoke will work with a 700R4 that works with the glide/th350. I also have read that you can activate the lockup with a toggle switch. I have not looked much at that because my 700 is a non lockup version.

You may want to also consider the 2004r box. It is not necessary to modify the driveshaft as it is the same length as the 'glide.
Opinions vary on this box (as with 700) but if it is built right you should have no problems.

If you use the TPI wiring for the 700R4 you don't have to use any switches. I have had mine installed for a few years now & I have had no trouble whatsoever............Jerry
I just wish I had went with a .411 posi instead of the .373 posi.

Got my 700R4 from TPI fours ago and have had no problems, I thought the 700R4 had the th400 spline yoke?? I also put in a 2200 stall, running 373 gears that are coming out and putting in 4.11's
