hesitation when excellerating
Just bought another truck(last thing I needed!),1986 K10 LB.One owner 110,000 miles.auto, air, tilt and criuse, almost rust free , hard to find around here ! Anyway its real slow. When you floor it its like it almost dies then finally and slowly it will build up rpms and run. I am sure it need the carb overhauled. Anything else to look for ? Also one door is hard to shut, how do I adjust these , They are not like my 67 Thanks

Vaccum leaks. They are your most likely cause. Doors you can adjust be the hinges or the striker.

If your truck has an EGR valve, disconnect it at the valve and plug the line and take it for a drive. If it acts better you know your problem.
If you have a vacuum gauge hook it to full manifold vacuum and check your reading. If you have anything less then 16 you have an issue or need to tune your carb. Have you checked your timing?

Thanks guys, I'll check the vacuum leaks this weekend, still not sure on adjusting the doors. I have one that does not close in far enough on the handle side. Can I adjust the latch inside the door somehow ? Thanks

Are you saying when you stomp it, it will fall flat on it's face for a second and then slowly catch and then take off? If this is the way it's doing, start looking at the secondary air valve spring may need to be tightened up a tad, or it could be broken or loose. These trucks came with two choke pull off/air valve dampeners, front and rear or primary/secondary. I would think both would have to be bad in order for these to cause it, but anything is possible. Either way, I bet money the carb needs a good cleaning and rebuild kit. It's also possible someone else has messed with it and screwed up all the setting.
For the door, yes, you can loosen the door strike bolt and move it in some. If the door is latching but not going in all the way, this is probably the cause.
