Help - Is 2nd row sub seat same size as truck bench???

Can anyone tell me if a second row seat from a suburban would work as a front seat in a pickup? Just bought one on ebay and need to know if this will work in my truck.

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks.

I would have to say no. If it is the full width 2nd row seat(models with no 3rd seat) then it should be the same width as the front seats but it doesn't fold and I'm not sure if the seat itself will accept the tracks from a p/u seat. I can go out & look at mine better tommorrow if you like and take some pics for you.

Joe,

Thanks a bunch for any assist. The pic shows what looks like a full size bench, no arm rests, etc., but of course measurements would be the best way to tell. Of course the brackets are another issue......

Hey Scott,
Just went out and measured the seat...

Frame is approx. 58-59" wide and 18-19" deep. The Suburban mounts for the floor do unbolt and should easily accept the front tracks. The only thing you may not like is the holes in the upholstery from where the armrests mount.

Let me know if you need any other measurements, ect...

Joe,

Thanks for the assist on the measurements. Any idea of how that compares to a truck bench (mine is under wraps presently)?
This seat did not have any arm rests, so no holes to worry about fortunately.

Thanks again.

I bought my burb with only the front buckets in it, but purchased all three bench seats out of "71Submans" burb and the middle and third seat are 50 inches wide and the same as the blazer rear seats. Middle seat installs offset to center for passage to the third seat. ?????? I was assuming this was original?

There are 2 types of second row seats. Dan72cst, the ones you describe are correct when the optional 3rd row was included. The type bagged91 measured is the seat you got when the 3rd row seating wasn't included. It is wider becuase there is no need for access to 3rd row seat. Both types have armrests. Hope this clears things up for you.

Scott,
I believe that seat is the same width as the stock front bench(my front seat is out and over my dads so I can't check).

CPNE,
Exactly what I was gonna say!
