Recovery Tank
Anyone know if or when a radiator recovery tank was available for 67-72 series ? If so does anyone have one for sale ?

My understanding is that they weren't available.
Every time someone brings this up, everyone says that they are using an aftermarket tank. Personally I'm using one I picked up at NAPA. Brian |

I actually use a window shield washer bottle on one of my trucks. You end up having to use two hoses one inside the other but it works ok. Wootdog

I have gotten several trucks that had the same style and the owners swear they were original/or GM dealer installed. They sit in a metal round rod style bracket and they are ugly.
Here is what I use. The six seperate parts come from four different companies so I can get the perfect combination. Last edited by PICKMUP; 03-07-2004 at 12:28 AM. |

I have what I think is an original coolant recovery tank in my truck. I say that because it has a good deal of wear on it (cracked plastic in the top corner. I will try to post a pic.

That's my 72 truck that frenchblue posted a picture of. It is an original unit. They were only available in 1972 as a dealer installed option.

why piece together
Not sure why anyone would piece one together when PICKMUP has a nice setup for good price shipped to you. I hope for more products like this ready to bolt in for good price.
Thanks to all of our faithful vendors for helping us on things like this while trying to make a living.

I am believe the one shown by Frenchblue is a dealer installed option. I also have the exact same setup on my 72.
Was complete until I took my truck to a swap meet. Someone had the nerve and balls to snatch the cap off, while parked in the parking lot. I am playing h_ll now trying to find a replacement. The caps are not the same size as the other factory tanks or after-market ons.
