well, everything is for sale, goodbye trucks
been doing some thinking. my truck needs a lot of stuff done to it before i would be able to drive it. my grandparents own 2 1978 cadillac eldorado barritz. they were purchased as twins. one of them is in my garage right now (they used to live here). the one here has like 3-4,000 original miles on it, the one in pa has about 300 some miles on it. it has a 425 bb cadillac. ALL stock. except for wheels, but has original hubcaps in trunk, most comfortable interior in the world. and as of late i had been thinking of asking my grandparents how much they would sell it to me for. then on sunday my mom was talking to my grandparents and they mentioned giving/selling the car and that it would be a good idea. i emailed them and they responded if i sell the trucks they would make me an offer i could not refuse on the car. and since my truck doesnt have a/c. has some rust and the transmission, brakes, and engine will need some stuff to be able to be driven, i have decided i will sell it, and the 72, to get some money to give my grandparents for the car. i will be able to get 2,500 out of my 70 i hope since i have put some money into it since i bought it, but the 72 is a diferent story, its rusted more, and now doesnt run because the timing chain decided to slip a while back. i figure with the car i will be able to fit more than 2 passengers in there ( thats 2 uncomfy passengers. and be able to carry like 5 or 6 people around if need be. the car has been owned since new and run on occasion. now for some questions... if i end up getting the car, is there gong to be any problem with having only put 4000 miles in like 26 years? like engine problems? transmission? brakes? i plan on replacing the tires hoses and battery and all that kinda stuff and a general inspection of the whole car also. what do yall think? by the way i think i am going to keep the swb as project truck.
i have some pics i will resize and post of the car

I used to have a boston terrier named bootsie. Too bad he was hit by a car. I'm not into the huge cars myself but, that thing looks mint. I would probably do it.

You should sell your trucks, buy the Caddie, then sell it to a collector. If it's as clean as it looks it would bring some nice green, then you could buy a really nice 67/72 truck
As clean as that thing looks I wouldn't mind buying it myself. What color is the other one?

Wow, that's awesome! Why did they buy two El Dorados but never drove them? That's probably everyone's dream - to find brand new vehicles that have been sitting in a garage for over 25 years. By the way, let me know if you decide to part out your trucks - I need doors.

my grandparents have a thing for cadillacs. they have owned something like 17 new ones. they currently own 3 -- the two twins and their first cadillac - a 1956 cadillac still all original with 30 or 40,000 miles. pink with a black top. the other car is this ones twin. same color and all and is near pittsburgh, pa. just beign that i can get a nice clean original car like this - something i couldnt probably afford if i wanted to actually buy... mikej... i have the green and white door thats on my truck... all my other doors are bad. both of my drivers door are rusted. the blue one that came off is going to w/ the truck. the reason i bought it is because it all works unlike the blue one that the latch doesnt work well and the door doesnt stay shut.... im thinking of just selling the trucks local if i can.

Good luck on selling your trucks. The caddy looks like a pimpin' ride.

Sell your truck(s) and take advantage of your grandparents' generous offer - I'll bet they give you a super deal! You can always get another truck later; there are plenty out there. Whatever you do, don't sell the Caddy! Your grandparents would be crushed/insulted/disappointed/p!ssed, and rightfully so. I doubt you'll have any serious problems; there may be some seals that need replacement, but most items should be minor. You're a lucky guy!

another question... i want to install a cd player. should i just forget about a cd player, or should i mount it underdash. im NOT going to cut this car up.
randy... i WISH... i had thought about something like that but knew i could never do that in a million years without getting shot by my grandparents.... and tx.... i will certainly be... "pimpin" in the caddy... my grandparents used to own a caddy with 500 and they said it looked funny smokin the front tires from a dead stop. well i guess well see.

yep, it plugs inline between the radio and the antenna wire. Nothing to cut. They work real well, I've used them in like 6 of my cars and trucks with nothing but happiness.
You have a little remote control for the cd changer and you just tune the radio to like 88.1 FM and your groovin.
