I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. You have been busy! A growing pile of scrap I see. I told ya the sheetmetal was held together by rust...lol Does the rest of the frame look ok? I'm sure you have found some closer, but you are welcome to come and cut those bed pad off this 70 frame I have here. Have you found any other problems with it? I saw you had to put rotors on it? I hope it all comes together to make a great truck for you.

Actually have not changed the rotors yet. They actually felt pretty good stopping so I left them alone for now. Got the cab off.

New cab on! Thanks Richard Morgan for helping. Slid the cab on some wood from the 2wd to my chassis. Had the floor cut for the high hump.

That is a cool pic with the 71 looking on. It is getting a heartbeat again. Amazing what we do on these trucks. That being the third cab on that chassis.
My very first k20 which I no longer own needs its third cab also. Isn't the rust belt great? Mine hibernate to stay away from the Morton salt...lol Did the engine/trans/transfer case all look ok when you got the sheetmetal off? |

Dean it sure did. I cleaned it up a little. It's getting there. Have to figure out what he did to the clutch linkage. I'm getting it though, he welded a piece to it and also bent it to get it to work with the body lift. I'm going to test the electrical tomorrow after work.
Richard, it was easy I backed into the ditch and literally rolled the cab into the back of the truck. A neighbor stopped and helped. The old man never showed up and did not return my calls, his loss! I'll tell you those super swampers did great coming out of the ditch, 4lo and 1st gear tires only spinned about 1/2 rotation and I was out. And you seen my ditch, imagine it is full of water now.
