Alternator..easy??
How much does an alternator for 70 350 usually run? I got quoted 70.00 from Napa and that seemed a little steep.
Thx Steve

Is there a local auto electric shop in your area? Around here I can get an alternator rebuilt for about $30 and I know it's gonna be good to go. It's what I recommend.

I also recommend that you have your alt. rebuilt. You can also buy the kit at NAPA to rebuild it yourself for about $12, which is the cheapest way I go.

You should be able to get one for less thanhalf of that. I have seen them for sale as cheap as 25.00 or so. For 70.00 it would almost be worth coverting to a newer high output one.

A newer high output one is going to run a lot more than that, a CS144 140amp is around $200. I just paid $180 for an alt for my Neon.

Steve, check e-bay as they sell high output single wire altinators for around $125-----with warranty. Auto Zone or Advance Auto sells rebuilt stock altinators for under $40. Good luck--Huck

Also, as a side note, NAPA alt, starters, and batteries, are all JUNK. Stay away from them.
