Weekend Progress
Got the front and back ,put back together still have to do the interior ( Door Rubbers ,and door panels and speakers) .
Waiting for the side trim to come off BO so I can get it all done. Or are we ever done? Front Pic

Wish I could take credit for the grill it was LB"s ( barn9) idea ,
71-longbed ,the only tip I can give you is have the paint shop do it ,they did mine . I'm not sure I like the Blue bowtie on the bronze yet though. Here is a better Pic

Not exactly my idea. If I remember correctly, I got into the topic by mentioning that I had seen a couple colors that did not look good IMO. The bronze looks good though, as does the entire truck. You done good Bill!

side trim
Truck is looking good you should be proud. Let us know how side trim progress goes and what you used for clips. I have heard everything from people restoring old clips to using after maket sticky pads or after market clips or combination. I assume extra care is used to apply trim on new paint and maybe have 1 good shot at it.

Looks great, Bill! You're really making me feel bad now! Every time I look at my trucks my wife says "We've got a kitchen to finish first!" Someday...maybe...I sure hope kitchens are not like these trucks and are never really finished.

current project 67 402BB stout th350 3.08's with a locker. Plan on tubs 18.5's out back! (thanks Burnsman!) 71 SWB Stepside, was a 250, now is a 402 Big Block with 4 speed and 3.73's ( was crushed by a tree, bed sold, motor pulled) was my first truck!... oh well... 72 LWB 4x4 350 4-speed 3.08's posi wearing army olive drab green (SOLD!) 68 BURB 50TH LOOKALIKE work in progress, soon to have 250-I6 with a 3-speed on the tree 4.11's and posi ( currently sitting in back yard tarped awaiting time, $$$, and lots of love!) 67 1 TON- work truck 396 sm 420 4-speed, flat bed 4.57 gears "big red" (my first landscape truck, very rusty and crusty! but still gets the job done when needed!) |
