re gearing
How much did you guys pay to have your truck regeared? I was quoted $4-500 for the labor. That sound a little high?

It varies really. I've seen quotes of $600 for labor, and I just read a post on another forum that a guy was quoted $390 including the gears.

$500 should include gears. Depending on the type of carrier it can take a long time even for the pros because it's a trial and error type of thing. I've done this myself a few times. It's not that hard Just takes patience and the right tools to get it right. You do HAVE to get it right though. If you order Yukon gears from Randy's, they come with a great little hand book for set-up. Good luck.

I charge $250 for fronts and $200 for rears installed in the vehicle. I knock off $50 for each if the housings are out. To the best of my knowledge, that is significantly cheaper than any of the shops around here.

$150, which inluded an upgraded rear. went from a 3.08 geared 6 lug 10 bolt up front to a 4.10 geared 8 lug 10 bolt front. and from a 3.08 geared 12 bolt out back to a 4.10 Gov locked 14FF out back.

It's like at least $600 where I live. That's why I still have 3:73 with 38's.
