Talk about 67-72 trucks in movies!

I went to this little mom and pop video store and rented
the original Gone in 60 Seconds (tons of trucks in this one) Vanishing Point, Two Lane Blacktop, Corvette Summer and Drirty Marry Crazy Larry. I was amazed they had all of them. I haven't seen these movies in years. I saw many 67-72 trucks not to mention great cars. What are some other movies I should look for? They seem to have them all. Does anybody know of any movies with 70-72 Monte Carlos?

movies

Two movies that I have seen recently with our trucks in them would be Beautiful Girls (72 Blazer / old style half top), and Sweet Home Alabama ( 72 GMC 4x4 truck lwb). That's all I know of right now. Dan

Cool Movies

The move with Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton as bank robbers has a suburban in it. They drive it the whole time. They also drive a GTO a good bit. I just watched it last night and can't think of it.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

There's a two tone blue and white 72 in "I know what you did last summer" The guy with the hook is pretending to work on it, when he hooks the cop. Nice truck. Note "pretending to work" Because we all know it is working fine! LOL

Check out the little known '80s movie "Catch me if you can". There is a '72 in it for a breif moment, but there is a lot of other sweet cars. It's defenitly a movie worth seeing, if you can find it.

Dion, the obvious for a classic muscle car movie would be "American Grafitti" and you might wanna check out "The Hollywood Knights" for more muscle car action. Can't think of any good 70's movies with our trucks off the top of my head.

Dang,
I thought I was the only one that noticed this stuff!!!!
The black 71-72 Shorty in Dazed and Confused was kicka**
with that red interior! The movie was shot in Austin Tx. I
think, and the cars/trucks were supposedly supplied by
a (local?) firm by the name of McKnight's Auto. They got
a small plug in the movie. The local baseball team in the
movie was sponsored by"McKnight Auto".

Here's one you need to check out. It's an early 80's buget
flick called "Granville USA". Stars Jamie Lee Curtis. Not much
for old cars, unless you like'em crunched, but Jamie Lee drives
a 67 or 68 C-30 TOW TRUCK. And in the "in-cab" camera shots, you get a pretty good look at..........
FACTORY SHOULDER BELTS!!!

Man, I spend WAAAAAY TOO MUCH TIME IN FRONT OF THE TUBE!!!
I Just tell my girlfriend it's...........RESEARCH!!!!!!!!!!HA HA!!!!

Mike

THE CAR

Man dion - you know where it's at! I saw the car as a kid & it blew my mind. I'm gonna get me some yellow tint & an air horn for my '67 GMC & go rip around New Mexico!!!! - Santa Ynez wasnt it? seriously-the car was built by George Barris. I got my DVD from a local used cd store - they made fun of me! they had a bet on how long it was gonna sit on the shelf for!

BEEEEEEEEP-Beeep-Beeep-BEEEEEEEP!

Anyone know where I can get some yellow/amber window tint???

That black shorty in Dazed and Confused was what opened my eyes to 67-72 Chevy trucks. I gues that at the time I had never really noticed them but after I saw that movie I was in love with them.

Have you all heard of the movie Bullitt? I know what makes this movie famous is the chase with the 68 Mustang FB and the 68 Dodge Charger, but it was filmed on location in San Fran in 1968, and you can only imagine all the cars and trucks in their new state back then shown driving around and parked on streets. I can't really remember hoards of our trucks, but it was 68, the second year of production, but there are tons of Impalas, Bel-airs, you name it 68 and back. I even caught a 68 or 69 Camaro brand new, and a 61 Bubbletop Impala just to name a few.

I searched everywhere for a copy of The Car for years and finally found out is was being rereleased so I put in a pre order, man I was stoked!
I remember going to Universal Studios when I was young and as we were on the tour passing a lot full of cars used in movies I spotted The Car in the middle of a bunch of smashed up cop cars, I just pointed at it ans said look! I was the only one that noticed.

I did hear that The Car was on display at a used car lot here in San Diego, Santee to be exact. I heard that when you got up close to it the horn would go off.
