Rear Trackbar Help

I am installing the CPP Deluxe Trac Bar and the instructions are not the best.

Part number 6572DT-BK

Am i suspose to remove the factory Trac Bar mount on the right frame rail.

i have everything installed and the bar seems to long. do i need to force the trailing arm over to accept the trac bar?

the track bar mount should be on the left(drivers side) frame rail.

how far off is it? can you adjust the bar to fit into it? and have you measured to see if your axle is sitting in the middle of your truck? you should be able to measure from your tire to your framerail on each side to see if it's centered or not.

When I took off my factory track bar for chroming it did not line up when i put it back on. had a buddy push on the box, slid right it.

I was dealing with a similiar problem today. I am doing a frame up on a short 68 and when I measure from the wheel to the frame I am 1/2 to 3/4 wider on the left side? Will weight on the truck make a difference? The trailing arm lines up without persuasion?

the bed is not on. the axle perches are not welded either. should i leave the track bar off until i get the perchs welded? it is off about an inch and can't adjust the play with the jam nut. there is not any weight on the axle and it is hanging free. 5" rear springs

Don't forget, the center measurements and adjustment should be done AFTER the bed is installed and the truck is sitting on level ground. Once the bed is on, the bar may need to be about an inch longer than it is without the weight of the bed on the truck.

having weight on the rear end make a big difference when installing your panhard bar. the lower you frame is to your rear end, the "longer" the bar becomes.

you should be fine sliding the rear end over to get it into the mount, but don't waste time adjusting it until you have the bed on the frame and the wheels on the ground, and have the truck at ride height.

What is the best way to measure to see if the rear is centered? I heal a level on the tire and measures to the frame? I came up with the 1/2 to 3/4 inch difference. Will I need to get an adjustable panhard bar or do you think everything will fall into place 233.0....once t.he bed is on?

i'm no pro, but i would say get your perches welded in, then worry about the track bar. it's a bit concerning that with no weight on the rear end, you're already an inch past the mount. (i'm assuming you have it adjusted all the way in) but, my guess is that once you get the perches in, and hook things up, you will need to adjust your panhard out some to get the rear end centered.
