Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
We began preliminary construction last October with clearing the site (had to remove an equipment shed not shown) with tree removal and dirt work. Due to the unpredictable Texas weather and contractor schedule we are finally seeing progress. The last few photos with the standing iron only happened within the last two weeks. We are excited and hope you enjoy the documentation of the progress.
My wife doesn't care for heights - I can't believe she even did this! My youngest, Wyatt (aka rat96) however had no issues.

Gee Wayne, that's a heck of a shop. What kind of business are you opening there?

Congrats on a great start Wayne!

Re: Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
Thanks everyone!
The size is 60x40x16 (LWH). This will be a place to tinker in when we retire. There will be an upstairs guest/band room and storage loft. We decided to pull the trigger in February of 2013 and between a couple of different contractors, bank stuff, and Texas weather we are finally seeing substantial progress. Can't believe it has taken soooo long to get to this point. ETsC10, a big bonfire is planned with the remaining brush from the tree removal. They are cedar trees and I trimmed all the branches and traded the timbers to a friend. He is going to take them to a local sawmill to have a fire place mantel and cedar planks for closets made for his home. Here is a shot from yesterday - some sheet iron went up. It's a windy day (30 mph gusts) so not sure too much will get accomplished.

Re: Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
Thanks guys Its twice the size of my house too (we live in the smaller red metal building left of the carport/shed in photo #6 been there 19 years now).
Karl there will be a native stone wainscot where the white steel is now. Should look pretty nice. Here is the progress from Monday through Wednesday Hoping to be in the dry by next week.

Re: Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
The stone should really look great. I thought something was not complete yet since that flashing between the red and white steel seem to stick out to far for not having something below it..
Looking Good Daddy'O!

Re: Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
This is super nice. I really like all the windows, provides lots of light and makes the building a little nicer looking as well. Is there going to be insulation and any HVAC installed?

Thanks Jonathan!
Thanks earl84! Yes, there will be spray in foam insulation in the entire building and HVAC in the breakroom/bathroom.
