Love it. It would fit in my collection of L6 no otion trucks. Is it manual steering manual brakes like my 77?

Thumbs up Re: New 1976 SWB

Yes. No PS no PB. Does have AM radio and gauges. Ralleys obviously added later. Can't wait to start on it.

If your looking for another....

The salvage yard I do business with has a mid 70's bare bones truck he is selling complete only, six runs strong. Might be to Far out for you ?

Clackamas River Auto Salvage (503) 630-6287 ask for Don, he sells on E-bay

Re: New 1976 SWB

My original shifter was difficult to shift. Pulled it out and bought a Hurst Indy from Summit. Bolted right in to the original bracket and even used original linkage. Sprung for the white patterned hurst shift knob. Lowering is Next!

Re: New 1976 SWB

Nice. Did it used to be 3 on the tree? My Dad had a 76 when I was kid, it was three on the tree no powersteering, no power brakes. Shifter linkage would lock up all the time under the hood. Lol.

I don't think so. No place for the stick on the column not remnants of the stick under hood. Looks like the same column as I used to have in my 4 speed trucks. I think was always in floor.

Re: New 1976 SWB

Got the front half of the 2.5 front 4" rear drop installed over thanksgiving. first pic is before. second two are after. 6 banger made it sit sky high to begin with.

Also gutted the interior. getting "new" seat, dash pad and door panels. ordered the new black full floormat off the old net. came in yesterday. looks great. will post interior when done.

Re: New 1976 SWB

I like the base trucks. My 82 with original paint does have power steering, which may have been standard in 82. Anyone know for sure?

Worn-out 250 six and 3-speed trans will be replaced by mild 355 and TH350 which are under construction.

Nice project! How did you lower it? I have a 79 stepper inline 6 that sits pretty high and want a nice clean drop like yours. Yours is looking good!

Cut a round out of coils and bought mcGaughy drop spindles from Summit.
Thanks. It's a fun project. Ordered SEM Camel interior paint today.

Re: New 1976 SWB

We had a pretty cold winter in KS, so its been awhile. Finally pulled the big block outside my garage to get me some garage space for Greeny.

I patched and painted salvage yard door panels, visors and a dash pad with SEM paint. I followed the directions to the "T" with adhesion promoter, etc. I have under $400 in the whole interior including a $80 seat and $150 floor mat. I pulled an AM/FM cassette out of a car I sold.

I installed dual dash speaker and a new clear bezel cover from LMC. Only new parts I used.

Found a new Rooks County Kansas tag on eBay--customized with the original style School District decal.

Before and after.....

not bad, eh???
