Recommendations for Disc Brake Conversion

I was going to search but noticed the Google search is gone...

I need some recommendations for front disc brake conversion kits. So far the best deal I've found is Classic Performance Products for $599. Includes everything but the control arms and coil springs. Here's the link to the kit.

www.earlyclassic.com A little more expensive, but the best in the biz. I've bought from Classic Performance before and was not totally satisfied.

I used the Early Classic kit too. The guy told me all I needed was a can of wheel bearing grease and a bottle of brake fluid to install the kit. He was right. Every single little thing was included, right down to the last washer and cotter pin. Parts were new GM and Raybestos, even the brake lines were prebent.

Hmmmmmmm.....That's good price difference. Also the Early Classic kit doesn't include the tie rod ends and ball joints. That would tack another $200 or so. I know quality is worth the money but is there that much of a difference to double the price of the upgrade.

Does anyone know what brand equipment the Classic Performance kit uses? I'm going to email them and see what they will tell me.

Thanks for the input..........If you haven't figured it out I'm a cheapscape. Not to mean I buy inferior stuff just want to get it as cheap as possible. I really do value the opinions on this board or I wouldn't have even ask.

I have the CCP kit front and rear on my truck, the front look exactly like any modern chevy truck disc brake setup and the rear is a caddy rear disc setup.

good price, great customer service,

talk to Javier, if possible.

you are right, I mean't to say Cpp classic performance products, if you call, try to talk to Javier. (pronunced hava e air)

My front calipers looks like the front stock ones on my 92 c1500 and the back ones are caddy deville, they can tell you right off, because i called and wrote it down at home so i will know what pads to buy when time to replace them.

I know CPP is all new stuff, not rebuilt. I asked that question when I purchased.

Unless you are in a real big hurry, contact Bill Athey www.s-c-t-p.com.
I bought shocks from him and they came from CPP. He is a board sponsor, and will probably have as good or better price than CPP.

Joker, are you back in Gulfport now?

Thats what is nice about the ECE kits. You dont have to change any tie rod ends or anything! Like TxFirefighter and I posted...."NOTHING ELSE TO BUY"!!

Yep in Gulfport....never left........I actually live North of Gulfport in Perkinston. You may not be familiar with Perkinston, it's a few miles south of Wiggins.

The ECE kit is 640 bucks with everything.

Before you spend your cash, go to the review board and read a few minutes. You will not find an unhappy ECE customer, but there are some guys not happy with CPP's customer service.

Hey, I'm another satisfied ECE user. Their spindles are designed to use stock tie rod ends. They use 12-inch GM rotors and calipers, with stock pads for trucks. The master cylinder is stock GM. I have absolutely NO qualms about buying from them, again. They're great to talk to and will answer your questions, whether or not you've bought from them. That is what lead me to choosing them over any other vendor.

All the above mentioned items, are true for the CPP kit as well, and my experiences with CPP have been positive.

Remember, that Bill Athey is a board supporter. I have started purchasing from him. And I will source everything I can get from him, because he is a small operation like ed at mothertruckers and gmc pauls and wes out in washington state. all these guys are great sources and good prices.

The reason I am so loyal to ECE is that I bought from them years before anyone else built a drop spindle for these trucks. Back in the day, you either used ECE for spindles or converted to 73 and newer spindles by changing to newer ball joints and tie rod ends. The other spindle companies came along later.

I just counted, and I've done six different 63-72 trucks in the last 10 years with ECE 4/6 drop kits. I dance with the one who brung me.
