Autometer Cluster Projects
Just thought I would post a few pics of my latest board member cluster projects.
These belong to GMan and Hart_Rob. GMan has the clock in the center and Hart_Rob has the fuel gauge (man am I jealous of that gauge) GMan built his, and I wired it up for him. Rob sent me the gauges and I have gone from there. I can't wait to see both of these clusters installed!

BUT....(and you knew there was a but...) GMan printed a color photo from the Autometer website and took it to a local college instructor who does some mighty fine print work. He fashioned a clock face as close to the layout of Autometer as possible. The colors are really close, as are the numerals. I think he got the look he wanted. Then he printed the "face" on high quality stock and applied it over a Monte Carlo clock. And it fits like a glove!

Very nice work - makes me wonder if I should have installed mine from behind like you have done here - really looks great.

Re: Autometer Cluster Projects
Putter -- it looks BADA$$!!! I can't wait to get that thing mounted. Maybe it is the motivation I need to get started on my 5.3/4L60E swap .

Re: Autometer Cluster Projects
Putter,
Do you think that would work on a Phantom 3 3/8 oil press/H20 temp gauge? Looking forward to seeing picture of the Fuel Press guage. Rob

Re: Autometer Cluster Projects
Those look fantastic.
Was the printed clock face screen printed, lazer printed, or some other form? Was it printed on paper or vinyl? Thanks

Re: Autometer Cluster Projects
Whoa...those look awesome! So what's the deal with the fuel gauge? Has it been discontinued? If so, what size is available now? After seeing this I bet you are ready Rob....

Re: Autometer Cluster Projects
THis is what I had in my old 68. I will probably build somethimg similar to it for the Blazer, with no so many gauges this time (no air ride).

Re: Autometer Cluster Projects
that is some great looking dash , the gages do point down in these designs think it also would look good to get some close fit shiny or brushed aloy beveled pipe under the gages to get them to point up from the flat dashpiece underneat or get even wider pipe and french them intoo the dash .

Now you just have to find a shop that has one remaining in stock....which is easier said than done. Occasionally, you can find one or two on E-bay, but you have to be exxxxtremely lucky to get a fuel gauge. Many props go to DJRacer for pointing Rob and myself to a couple of gauges. (Technically, I LET Rob get the fuel gauge....I took the oil pressure gauge instead )
