Axle Swap Thread Along With Info.
Well I bought a set of axles to upgrade mine, a Dana 44 big bore hub front end, and a full floater 14 bolt rear end. Hooray!! This is the 2nd set I bought, after getting burned on the first. Well lesson learned, you get what you pay for.
Anyway. I pulled the cover and there is some rust, oil buildup around the magnet, but bearinga looked alright... I will update in daylight with pics. Guess this is just a little intro to get things started!

Re: Axle Swap Thread Along With Info.
Day 2. Tires are off as are u-bolts and driveshaft out. Also got the 14 bolt on stands to work on easier... so productive I guess. Won't touch it tomorrow, gonna be with my son... but how can I decode the numbers on the ring gear? Tried to search but didn't get much...

41/11 is 3.73 or 41/10 is 4.10. It has both a 10 and 11 stamped. Mark the pinion and count the teeth for a positive identification.

I tried that today but it's hard to see the pinion gear... plus I was distracted by the little one today. 2 weeks old and already lost my 9/16th wrench...

I think that 10 41 is your gear teeth/ratio; 4.10's

Re: Axle Swap Thread Along With Info.
I have a matching Dana 44 front so they'll match... just 4.10 would be better as I have 40's... if not guess I'll just regear!!

That's what I thought. The 10 41 being 4.10'a and the 11 75 being November of 1975... manufacturing date...

Re: Axle Swap Thread Along With Info.
Update as luck and all would have it... cleaned the difference cover and all up, then resealed and put back on. Looked good just a little rust on the cover and stuff so hope it's all good. Going to put it in later today or tomorrow and see what happens...
