Matching Numbers Motors
What would be the proper engine casting number for my 1970 GMC 3/4 ton, Trying to turn the truck back to stock, and the motor was the only thing that isn't. It came with a 402BB from factory.

Re: Matching Numbers Motors
As far as i know, its not the casting number that matters, because the correct motor could have been produced on any number of days, at any number of plants. So any 402 BB from those years would be correct.
What makes it matching, is the fact that the original motor would have had your partial vin stamped on it. good luck to ya
