One thing I have not seen much of on the board is glove box emblems. Does anyone know what emblem came on a CUSTOM 10 72 chevy? I am looking for one for my Wal-Art project. I bought a parts truck for 75.00 to get the dash,front fenders and bed for my project.
If anyone has done this before I would like to hear there thoughts on the subject. Here is what I have done so far. I have a repop tailgate that I will use with a CHEVROLET band with trim around the tail lights.

Did you keep the bed front panel too? You could weld it into a 12" bed and make a wall hanger tailgate workbench that closes up.

Back to your question. The Custom/10 was the base trim level in 71-72. It was pretty stripped. The only trim level in those years to have a glove box emblem was the Cheyenne Super.
Below are pictures of a 71 Custom (Ochre) Note the plain knobs.
a 72 Custom Deluxe (White) and a 72 Cheyenne Super (Blue)
The Cheyenne dash will look the same as the Custom Deluxe.

I usually use my tailgate anyways because I have too much crap on my work bench out in the shop.
If you fold it up when you're done, not only is it out of the way but you won't be tempted to put crap on it which is my problem to start with.

I am making the tailgate into a fold down bench or work space. Yes I am going to use the front panel and weld it to the stake pockets. It will be about a 6" bed.
thanks for the ideas and the feedback. As far as the glove box goes, I think a glove box emblem will make it POP!! and not look so plain.

This is the one I want for my glove box door. It's original to '67 and '68, but I like the look and am going to put it on my Medium Blue '72 Highlander. But I'm having a hard time coughing up $25 for a 25 cents worth of pot metal!

That is the one I put in my 72 because when I was a kid my dad had a 68 with that emblem on his glove box. For some reason I have more memories of the glove box. I would allways eat my lunch on the opened glove box and I would play with my cars on it on hunting trips. Good memories..

Don't see why you really need a badge. Are you not just going to be using the "Drink Holder" function of the glove box door when you are in the shop?
