Will '67-71 metal door panels fit a '72?
Hey folks...
I have a '72 burb and am in need of all 4 plastic interior door panels. Well, three door panels and one for the false door on the driver's side... Anyway, I'm not having any luck locating a new or good set of rear panels for the suburban doors, so I was thinking about maybe getting a set of metal panels from a 67-71 and swapping them onto my '72. Is this feasible? I have always liked the metal panels, but I don't know what the differences are int he year models. Thanks, Doug Last edited by classicfins; 10-30-2010 at 04:29 PM. |

I believe the difference is in the regulators. On the 72 the regulator shafts are longer to clear the door panels.

Ah, that makes sense.. Are the window crank and door latch shafts in the same locations as the earlier models? If so I could probably swap out the shafts and go with the metal panels maybe....

Yes you can! You just need to change the regulators!
