Re: How how did you run your Vintage Air hoses?
I'm using the bulkhead for the fire wall that my Vintage air kit came with. Did yours not come with one or are you looking for other options?

Re: How how did you run your Vintage Air hoses?
Well, this probably isn't for *everybody*, especially the show guys. But I wanted a little "design
balance" to that big brake huffer on the driver's side. And, I don't have the fabbing expertise that some folks on the Forum have. I like the one VA sends...it's a lot of plastic, but really is unobtrusive when you paint it. If I had the skills, for my money, the best setup would be a shaved firewall with the bulkhead fittings that VA sells. Oh, second to running everything thru the fenders where you can't see 'em at all.

Re: How how did you run your Vintage Air hoses?
No bulkhead fitting, just attatched them to the hard lines from the evaporator.Stubbed off the heater hoses, not really in a cold climate.I routed the hoses behind the fender panel and came out under the battery instead of across the wheel well.Alot cleaner look.Had to shorten the small line from the dryer to make the connection. |

Does it matter where on the firewall you run your hoses? Im noticing from the pics you guys are placing the bulkheads in different locations.

Re: How how did you run your Vintage Air hoses?
Mine are ran under the fender, and they come back out under my battery tray. Very simple and looks alot cleaner. IMO.

Re: How how did you run your Vintage Air hoses?
By any chance do you have a picture of the inside, where It Connects to inside AC/heater unit? I plan to install a 4 connection bulk head where original fan blower was at. Just wondering if I have to trim or remove anything else from inside the cab. I will be purchasing vintage air after truck gets painted. I can drill holes after its painted but trying to avoid cutting or grinding after painting.

Here's mine.....I just painted the plastic cover the same color as truck and spent a bunch of time getting the lines to fit nicely.

Re: How how did you run your Vintage Air hoses?
Used a metal punch and punched through I have my kit mounted very high in the dash and moved slightly over for more functional in cab space which is the cause of the placement of the lines

A shaved firewall, a/c bulkhead fittings, and/or hiding the all the lines and the fittings are very sweet. But for my taste, the REAL difference is in plumbing the lines around the compressor in order to route them to a more "tucked away" spot than I have mine. Later for me for that. But it will happen in the future. Inspired by SactoJim.

Re: How how did you run your Vintage Air hoses?
I hung my evaporator today. Looking thru old threads here to see how everyone ran their hoses. Obviously I could run my vintage air hoses as designed but I'm not sold on the the way it's going to look.
I'd like to smooth my firewall and run a billet bulkhead. Anyone else have any pictures to add to this thread? |
