If only it was left as a survivor.

Re: the cleanest K20 that ive seen for sale
I think they did a great job. That's one of the nicest trucks I've seen on these forums... no shortage of old survivors actually, but few cleaned up to this level!
Just needs a repro R59 battery!

Been drooling over it all day!
Skrenly, I was thinking the same, appeared to be nice before the restoration. Ray

That sure is a beauty. Only a couple things I wish were different.
1. I wish it had factory A/C. 2. I wish it were mine.

Re: the cleanest K20 that ive seen for sale
Gorgeous. But all the comments about being left as a survivor made me load ALL the pics on my "DSL" speedy connection just to see. I can't believe it. I wish he hadn't deleted the Custom Camper nameplates!!!!
EDIT: That truck (originally) was very similar to the solid tangier orange K20 Joe bought and had up for sale recently. Only difference I can see is that his was solid orange and a Cheyenne. Wow, what an original truck to start with - I wonder if it had been restored once before? Previous look matched SPID to a "t" though... Wow. WOw. Ken, you better grab it fast! The craftsmanship is incredible - I have to agree, very very clean. EDIT 2: Caramba - I THINK I found it in my archives - this was actually one of my favorite trucks - I remember spotting the pics of it ages ago on here - it's GOT to be the same truck. Pic 1 is from the ad, Pics 2/3 are from the tome... Last edited by jocko; 10-31-2016 at 10:57 PM. |

Re: the cleanest K20 that ive seen for sale
First -- it is a gorgeous truck, truly great workmanship. The result is really a truck that cannot be used as it is just too nice to put miles and the inevitable wear on it. Garage Queen, can be trailered to shows, etc.
As a survivor, I think it made more sense, both because you could use it, and economically, as survivors are currently in demand, and there would have been no restoration costs. We all want our trucks to be better, but if they are too good, it becomes a shame to use them. But again, great to see one so nice, and kudos to whoever did the restoration.

Re: the cleanest K20 that ive seen for sale
As mentioned in my Ebay listing, the original camper mirrors and new chrome sport mirrors are included in the sale. Since I was undecided on which I wanted to install, I'll leave to the new owner to pick and install.

Re: the cleanest K20 that ive seen for sale
I love all those custom finishes and home depot bolts holding the bed down. If he was going to customize it he should have added some stuff that make it nicer to own like mirrors, tilt, tach, etc. Its fully customized as it is...add the options.

By the way, the bed bolts are actually polished stainless from Mar-K. I was surprised at their length, as they could use a trim. The original camper mirrors and chrome sport mirrors are included in the sale. The new owner can decide what the want, as I know some prefer the camper, as opposed to the sport. Miles |

This is a beautiful truck! Wish I had the money. Also, shows how much a good description and good pictures help to increase interest in an auction.

I had a mix of bolts from Totally Stainless and Mar-K and some were really long (forget which, I guess the Mar-K ones). Very nice looking truck!

Nice truck. I'd rather have the 505 green 8' stepside that's listed under it.

Re: the cleanest K20 that ive seen for sale
What an amazing restoration, and great attention to detail. But 2 things in my opinion, it should have been left as a survivor, and it should not have been painted torch red! Ugh
Beautiful truck though!

Re: the cleanest K20 that ive seen for sale
WOW!!! Props to the seller for the most detailed ebay pics I've ever seen!
I'd love to have it before or after. Sadly, these trucks are starting to get out of my price range... I could pick up a super nice first gen Camaro for what this truck will go for.

Re: the cleanest K20 that ive seen for sale
It's my truck.
I will tell you even though it was an unrestored, original mileage truck, it had been repainted at one time. The poor repaint, along with some minor cancer prompted the repaint/restoration. The truck was painted back in the late 80's/early90's and did not show well at all. It was repainted the original orange/white, but unfortunately the material quality and workmanship was very poor. Nothing was removed for the repaint, all the side moldings, handles, emblems, rubber etc had over spray from the mask and spray job. Very sad. In addition, the old man had brushed on orange and white paint in various spots to help preserve the truck. The lower portion of the door jambs were all painted with a brush, same for the drip rail, bottoms of the inside of the door corners, the core support, front inner wheel wells, bottom of the hood etc. The truck looked decent going down the street, but up close, the paint was in really bad shape and really took away from the truck in my opinion. To each his own when it comes to a restoration. What one may love, another will hate. Thank you for the positive feedback on the restoration. I appreciate it, as it was a ton of work and time. Re: the cleanest K20 that ive seen for sale
I like original trucks that look nice. On the other hand I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate a restored truck when its owner put in all the effort and then some doing a proper restoration on his truck. Yes, this truck is beautiful and its obvious plenty of time and money was put into it. I see no reason why someone that isn't all uptight about scratching it and putting a little wear on it can't use it. I love the color combination, fantastic job....
