Repo 68-72 Box Sides ......

Has anyone used one or two of these yet ? I am in need of a drivers short fleet side. Mine is pretty rusty on the inside. I would like to know how well they fit. I think Slammed67 bought 2 but I can't recall if it was him for sure of not.

I can get a new side for $630 CDN does that sound fair ? or close to reasonable ?

Thanks,
Mario

Do you know if they fit well ? I really don't want to buy crap that does not line up.

Email Bill at Bills Trucks and ask him. You,d probaly get some money for your old box side(S) as they are very hard to come by.
Tri Plus is the only people making these.Up til then I think you had to cut down the long sides.

Mario, I know Slammed67 (Jason) used these on his truck and said that the overall fit was good.

That's good. Now I need to work for 2 weeks to save enough money to buy a box side. I think that it's the best thing to do I don't want rust bubbles and holes a few years down the road.

I have 2 on my truck. They are stamped great, fit good, metal is average for tiwan. I've had a problem with how they were welded together. a couple of spot welds broke, were barely welded together to start with, and the welding on the rear stake pocket, the bed skin was weled in the wrong spot. Fixed those and haven't found any problems since.

Did you have any of the body lines not line up correctly like Slammed had problems with ?

If I end up getting a new side I will just forget the flip down tail light gas filler. Kinda Sucks to have to Scrap a custom touch like thatju but what the hell it's justt going to take way too long to complete the filler hose and finish the body work needed on that side.

the only problem i've had with body lines is the top roll where it meets up with the tailgate. i've gotta goodmark gate as well, the gate is more square while the sides are more rounded, not sure which is right, gate or the sides.

Is it rusted right through? Can,t you blast it and use Por 15.Would seem a shame not to use it as you spent all that time on the gas tank filler.
