My 1972 Blazer CST 4X4

This is the Blazer I bought last year to restore. It has only 64,000 original miles, since the old man only drove the truck when it snowed. Everything is as original as it came from the show room floor. Everything is un-touched right down to the air cleaner and heat riser, spark plug heat protectors, original lock outs, hub caps, radio and below dash speaker, behind the seat tire storage loop, and jack equipment behinf driver seat. Of course belts, hoses, tires, plugs, etc have been changed, but I have yet to find a Blazer as complete as this one.

The body has typical Wisconsin rust in the body. The tailgate mounting hinges have rusted away so the tailgate won't stay in place. The windshield frame and firewall actually are quite clean. The single wall top has no cracks in it anywhere. The hatch needs hinges replaced because it is frozen in the down position. The deluxe medium blue interior is very nice, except for 2 rips in the drivers seat. The center console is perfect, as is the rear seat, passenger seat, rear side panels, sun visors and door panels with woodgrain.

The motor runs great and has no smoke, knocks, rattles, shakes or shimmies. The tranny shifts well, and the 4X4 locks in and operates as it should. The exhaust is loud from a bad donut on passenger side and a hole before the muffler. The brakes will stop the truck, but there is a leak somewhere in the system causing a resevoir to be empty. The A/C compressor clutch turns freely.

What are my plans? They are up in the air right now. I will let everyone know my plans as soon as I know myself.

Ho Ya!

Some interior pics! It's real dusty and dirty, but I wiped off the passenger seat to give you an idea how nice they will clean up!

I took the shifter ball off, because it is in perfect shape, and I didn't want it to walk off

The original full wheel covers were in the back. They are missing a lot of the acorn nuts, but still in very good driver shape and just need to be washed real bad. How do you like my red-neck gas tank... I didn't want to trust the rear fuel tank, so I made sure it had good clean gas to pump in to internal organs. The single wall top still has the electrical disconnect for the 2 dome lights. The top isn't cracked anywhere, the T-handle works good in the rear hatch that is also crack free.

More of the interior. I guess the old man never smoked, because even the ash tray is unused! All the parts for the tire storage is there and the rear side panels are in very good shape, except some curling near the rear of them.

Trevor, another board member is ahead of you if it's for sale.

Mike, thanks for the link to pics of your truck... we have a matching pair (except mine needs to have the paint buffed out, lol). 7 posts in almost 5 years? I guess that might be a board record or something

Frenchblue, TLC? Ya, more like a replacement tub, lol.

Although the tub is pretty rusty I would Kill to find a complete Blazer like that. Hope you fix 'er up or sell to someone who will. Wouldn't want to see something that complete get parted out.

Geeze Kurt, you really know how to put a guy on the spot

I think I'm gonna sell her eventually, she's becomming another one of those projects that just sit. Working 3rd shift, them having meetings several times a week during the day, gives me very little time even to do the basics in life

Thanks for all the nice comments (even yours Kurt ).

Here's the deal on the truck.

1... I have serious health issues again, if I get a bad prognosis... the Blazer is for sale, as well as just about everything else I own.

2... I want to buy investment property, if my health prognosis is good, I may sell the Blazer and C-30 to help me with payment on land or fix up an old house.

3... If my prognosis is good, and I get the property with what I have, I'll keep the Blazer and restore it. Maybe I'll still sell the C-30.

So right now I'm 66% sure I'm selling the Blazer. All I'm waiting on is my appointments from the V.A. hospital in Milwaukee. A fine sir in Illinois has first call on it, because we have already talked.

Davy, the jack spring and hold down stuff is still behind the seat. The jack and tools are in safe keeping in my basement. They were not in their correct spot when I bought the Blazer. Maybe another member here can help out with pics for us?
