Re: Getting to bottom of truck parts
They are deflectors, they attach to the bottom rear of the cab corners.

Re: Getting to bottom of truck parts
Thank you Russel Ashley. I suffer from chronic pain, many times I would be working on the truck and yelling. It helps but I do not know how.
Anyway I appreciate your help. I may just clean them up and treat them with POR-15, if it looks bad I will take them to the paint shop. |

Re: Getting to bottom of truck parts
There's just a few sheet metal screws holding them on. They don't show much at all when installed. If you drive your truck and it's not a show truck I wouldn't worry about them too much, just clean them up and use some Rustoleum rattle can paint on them.
Funny how working on your truck can make you feel better, it seems to have that effect on me anyhow. |

I agree, the trucks are therapeutic. Even driving them is for me.

Re: Getting to bottom of truck parts
Spok, I'll be the one who asks what do these things deflect? Air? Why are they necessary and why don't all our trucks have them?

Re: Getting to bottom of truck parts
Dan, I think those were standard on all TFs. If they are missing it's probably that they were removed at some point and not replaced. They would almost have to be removed when doing a top notch paint job. I guess that their purpose was to keep dirt and stones from finding their way up on to the running boards.
