Origional engine
I am new at ths so here goes. I have a 72 chev c/10 with a 402 Big Block. How can I validate that the engine is origional. The sticker inside the glove box says 400 cubic inch. Thanks, Joe

this will tell ya where to look and what the numbers mean .... if the #'s on the block match with the #'s on the heads .. then its original

400 badges
My badges say 402 on the front fenders. They look GM. Are they not origional? Thanks, Joe

Hey, there are no 402 badges that I know of,402 BBC's were called 400 ci invaders in GMC trucks, Look for a stamped code on the block and trace it through a hollander's manual for correct year and appl., also check your VIN# sometimes they say what came in them although a lot of times it just says V-8. also check in your glove box door. The Badges you have sound correct.

the 71 longhorn we have is marked 396 in the glove box and the paper work from gm of canada calls it a 400
