Cruising pics - 10/19

Finally got to take the truck out and really stretch out it's legs. I snapped a few pics along the way. BTW...it was 75* to 80* and clear here in San Antonio. Awesome weather for topless driving.

Looks like fun and the truck looks great. Is this the first cruise since you did all the work?

Are those spot lights on the windshield frame?

Awsome pics, how far did you go? gimme a couple of weeks and I'll be right behind you. Don't laugh just yet, the tranny is out and sitting on the back of the Jeep. I'm dropping it off at the shop tomorrow. Anyways, how'd the Blazer do?

First real cruise on the highway since swapping in the new drivetrain.

Yeah, they're spotlights. PO put them on. When I do paint in a couple of years, they'll come off.

Blazer did great. I need to adjust my pinion angle since going to the CV rear driveshaft. It's got some vibration, but a great ride otherwise.

What are the highway RPM's running now with the .70 overdrive?

...I forget, what's your axle ratio & tire size?

Nice you got out for a drive, nice day for it by the looks.

C'mon up next year and drive over to Mich. with us.

A road trip like that would be the only way to break it in right.

I think the speedo is a bit off. But, it looks right around 2000 rpm at 70mph. 4.10 gears with 35's.

[thread jack warning]

I will be down there (San Antonio) 11-1 through 11-8 (and a day or two in Houston during that time) - you guys doing anything that week?

Congrats on getting the Blazer out and about - I am sure it is nice to be done with the work and finally get to enjoy it!

That is just about perfect. Pretty funny, I've never had my K20 even close to 70 mph - my rpm's are pretty high just hitting 55-60 mph.

How's the ride at 70? I've got tire balance issues that definitely keep me from exploring that speed.

If your tires are a true 35" then my calculator says you should be turning 1,930 rpm. Doesn't look like your speedo is off much.

rpm = (mph x gear ratio x 336) / tire diameter

Thanks. People either tend to love it or hate it. It grows on you after a while. I think the PO is either was very ADHD or had some form of schizophrenia when he was dreaming up the paint.

When I eventually get around to paint, I'll take it down to just 2 colors with a 2 tone. I'm still up in the air as to whether or not to keep the true fire on the tailgate. But that decision is a couple of years from now...
