Re: 72 chevy C-20 rear end
I did it on my 71 GMC, the only issue I had was getting the proportioning set correctly. I removed the factory valve and replaced it with an adjustable one.

Re: 72 chevy C-20 rear end
then there is the shock mount that needs reloacated, and the mount foe the pan hard bar, then there are speedo gears needing swapped out.
Why do you want to swap to the later axle? |

Re: 72 chevy C-20 rear end
I tow a trailer and was advised that the 14 bolt is a stronger axle, my truck is also a leaf spring, what about the spring perches do they have to be relocated?

Re: 72 chevy C-20 rear end
yea, they had to be moved a little on the one I installed, it came out of a 88 burb, it was no big deal to relocate them.

Re: 72 chevy C-20 rear end
Unless you are getting crazy with power, hammering the throttle, or overloading the truck, the dana will probably be just fine.
